Queen Anne Events: 8 Things to Do in March

With St. Patrick’s Day and other fun things coming up this month, it’s time to mark your calendars with all sorts of Queen Anne events… 

  1. March 6 – Swedish Pancake Breakfast at the Swedish Club NW: Visit the Swedish Club NW on Sunday, March 6th for their monthly pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.! There will be dancing, live music, and an authentic Swedish pancake breakfast complete with ham, lingonberries and all of the fixings. The price is $9 for adults, $7 for club members and $5 for children ages 5-12.

  2. March 11 – Scandinavian Folk Dance: The Swedish Club NW is hosting a Scandinavian folk dance on Friday, March 11th from 8 – 10 p.m. There will be music by Folk Voice Band, with waltzes and polkas. The cost is $10 per person (discount for club members).

  3. March 12 & 13 – Seattle’s 2016 Irish Festival: Head to the Seattle Center Armory on Saturday and Sunday March 12th and 13th to participate in and enjoy the 2016 Seattle Irish Festival! There will be Irish food and drinks, booths with cultural products, workshops, cultural displays, contests, activities, music, singing and dancing.

  4. March 13 – Leprechaun Lap & St. Patrick’s Day Dash: It’s the 32nd annual F5 St. Patrick’s Day Dash on Sunday, March 13th! The 5k run/walk/jog starts and finishes at the Seattle Center, starting at 8:30 a.m. Click here to register ($40/person through 3/11/16). Before the adult race waves, there is also a Leprechaun Lap, a free 1k dash for kids ages 10 and under.

  5. March 14 – Pi Day at Seattle Children’s Museum: Enjoy activities, games, stories and more at the Seattle Children’s Museum celebration of Pi Day: March 14th!

  6. March 17 – Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce March Luncheon: The Greater Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce meets on the third Thursday of every month. Join the chamber guests and members for networking with other Queen Anne business owners, updates on the events and happenings within the chamber and neighborhood, and words from an occasional speaker. This year’s March luncheon will take place at the Best Western Plus Executive Inn at 200 Taylor Ave. N, from 11:15 to 1:00 p.m. on February 18th. The cost is $25 for members, $30 for non-members.   7. March 20 Seattle’s French Fest: Celebrate French-speaking cultures on Sunday, March 20th in Seattle’s French Fest! From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., there will be cultural entertainment, exhibitors, children’s activities, French cuisine, beverage tastings, and even a contest for the best baguette!

  8. March 25-27 – Spring Egg Hunts: Celebrate spring and Easter with the Seattle Children’s Museum spring egg hunts! From 8:30 – 10 a.m. March 25th, 26th and 27th, thousands of plastic eggs will be hidden throughout the museum for kids to find, and turn in for small prizes. There will also be lots of games, crafts, and a special golden egg scavenger hunt for kids ages 8 and up. Admission is limited, so get to the museum early to ensure your entry!
