May 1: Swedish Pancake Breakfast
8am – 1pm | Swedish Club NW
Visit the Swedish Club NW on Sunday, May 1st for their monthly pancake breakfast! It’s an authentic Swedish pancake breakfast complete with ham, lingonberries and all of the fixings. There will be dancing, live music from Skolkis, Skandia Kapell, Folk Voice Band and Katrilli. The price is $9 for adults, $7 for club members and $5 for children ages 5-12.
May 6: Women in Trades Career Fair
9am – 2pm | Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center
The 37th Annual Career Fair for Washington Women in Trades is coming up on Friday, May 6th. This is the place to learn all about current opportunities, training, resources, and more! This career fair is free and open to everyone.
May 7: Sounds of Sweden Annual Auction
5pm – 9pm | Swedish Club NW
The Swedish Club NW is hosting their annual auction on Saturday, May 7th. The event will honor Swedish culture and musical contributions through the theme, “Sounds of Sweden: From Accordions to ABBA”. Starting at 5 p.m. with a silent auction and complimentary sparkling wine, the event continues with the live auction and chef food tables at 6:30 p.m. Seats are $95/person and include all food and snacks. May 7: Opening Night of “The Flying Dutchman”
7:30pm – 10pm | McCaw Hall at Seattle Center
Seattle Opera’s production of Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” opens on Saturday, May 7th. This opera runs through May 21st, with plenty of weekend and weekday showings.
May 7-8: Dance Around the World
All Day | Seattle Children’s Museum
Head to the Seattle Children’s Museum on May 7th and 8th for Dance Around the World. You and the kiddos will enjoy live dance performances and activities celebrating dance from various cultures around the world!
May 14: iFest 2016
10:30am – 4:30pm | Seattle Center Armory
Seattle iFest 2016, an indie game festival, is on May 14th this year at the Seattle Center Armory. There will be demos and games to play, industry speakers, and all of the things video game enthusiasts want. This event is free and open to all ages.
May 15: The Who
7:30pm | Key Arena
The rescheduled stop for the 2016 tour, “The Who Hits 50!” is now here! Lead singer Roger Daltrey has recovered from his bout of viral meningitis to get back on stage and resume the North American tour. The Who, with special guests Slydigs, will be playing at Key Arena on May 15th. Ticket prices start at $35.50/person.
May 19: Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce May Luncheon
11:15am – 1pm | Best Western Plus Executive Inn
The Greater Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce meets on the third Thursday of every month. Join the chamber guests and members for networking with other Queen Anne business owners, updates on the events and happenings within the chamber and neighborhood, and words from an occasional speaker. This year’s May luncheon will take place at the Best Western Plus Executive Inn at 200 Taylor Ave. N, from 11:15 to 1:00 p.m. on April 21st. The cost is $25 for members, $30 for non-members. May 19: Seattle International Film Festival’s 2016 Kick-Off
