March means lots of fun for the little ones! From Seattle Center events to fun runs for kids and adults, check out some of the upcoming events next month…
March 2: Dr. Seuss Day
11:30am – 12:30pm | Seattle Children’s Museum
Bring the kiddos to the Seattle Children’s Museum to learn about and celebrate the wondrous works of Dr. Seuss for Dr. Seuss Day on March 2nd (celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday). There will be Creature Creator time from 11:30 a.m. until noon, and Story Time from noon until 12:30 p.m.
March 4: Seattle Children’s Museum Birthday Celebration
6:30pm – 9pm | Seattle Children’s Museum
The Seattle Children’s Museum is celebrating their 37th birthday with a grown-up party on March 4th, from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be drinks (wine and beer bar) and catered appetizers, as well as games and prizes to make your imagination come alive! Show your support with your attendance and donations. Tickets are $35 (individual) or $50 (couple).
March 4 & 5: Antiques and Great Finds Sale
10am – 5pm | Swedish Club NW
The Swedish Club NW is hosting a sale of antiques and old treasures, both Scandinavian and beyond, on March 4th and 5th. Proceeds from the Club’s table will benefit the Swedish Club Northwest for ongoing cultural programs and education, while proceeds from individual tables will go to the sellers.
March 5: Hot Chocolate Run
6:45am – 12pm | Seattle Center
The annual Hot Chocolate 5K/15K is on Sunday, March 5th! There will be sweet stations along the course, with lots of compound- and gluten-free dark hot chocolate, plus marshmallows, chocolate chips, and M&Ms.
March 11 & 12: Irish Festival
12pm – 6pm | Seattle Center
Visit the Seattle Center on March 11th and 12th for Irish Festival! Celebrating the rich Irish culture here in Seattle, the festival is free and features booths of Irish and Celtic products, Irish food and drinks to taste, and live music, dancing and other live entertainment. There will also be cultural workshops, an Irish art exhibit, contests and kids activities and more.
March 12: St. Patrick’s Day Dash & Leprechaun Lap
8am – 12pm | Seattle Center International Fountain
The St. Patrick’s Day Dash and Leprechaun Lap is on Sunday, March 12th! The Lap is first, followed by the Dash with waves starting as early as 8:30 a.m. The St. Patrick’s Day Dash is followed by a post-dash bash including a beer garden and live music. After the Leprechaun Lap at 8 a.m., bring your kiddos to the Seattle Children’s Museum for a variety of free entertainment, activities, costume contests, prizes, healthy snacks and access to the museum’s exhibits.
March 17: St. Patrick’s Day at Sully’s
4pm – 2am | Sully’s
Head to the perfect neighborhood Irish pub on St. Paddy’s Day! Sully’s on upper Queen Anne is the spot, with special drinks, snacks and more in celebration of the holiday.
March 19: Seattle’s French Fest
11am – 6pm | Seattle Center Armory
The 4th annual French Fest is on Sunday, March 19th in the Seattle Center Armory. There will be live entertainment, food and beverages, activities and booths featuring the culture and products from French-speaking countries. This event is free and open to the public.
March 31: Whirligig! Opens at Seattle Center
11am – 6pm | Seattle Center Armory
Through April 16th, Whirligig! transforms the Seattle Center Armory into a lively hub of entertainment and fun for kids ages 12 and under. It starts on March 31st. There will be balloon artists, caricaturists, face painters, Student Showcases, and plenty more free or affordable activities for the kiddos. The Toddler Zone offers fun for your littlest ones! The cost is $8 per all day main floor pass, $4.50 for an all day Toddler Zone pass, or $1.50 for a single ride ticket. Thursdays are free!
