The spookiest holiday of the year is just a week away! Halloween falls on a Monday this year, and it will be a busy day throughout the Queen Anne neighborhood.
First of all, the annual trick-or-treating along Queen Anne Avenue N will take place between McGraw and Galer from 3 – 6 p.m. Kids should get all dressed up and ready to collect lots of candy from the businesses along Queen Anne Avenue N.
But before the fun arrives for little witches and mini goblins, adults can celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 28th at Targy’s Tavern Halloween Costume Ball, from 9 p.m. onward! There will be live DJs (SpaceStation206) for the dance party. The Queen Anne View reports that, “in addition to Halloween themed songs like Thriller and Ghostbusters, they’ll also play a mix of both current dance songs and old school 80s and 90s classics – last year, a conga line formed for Lionel Ritchie’s All Night Long.” The suggested donation is $10, and donations plus proceeds from the event will go to John Hay Elementary, Coe Elementary and Queen Anne Elementary. Costumes encouraged!
Want to help your kids enjoy the festivities without filling their teeth with cavities? Little Pearls Kids Dentistry is doing their annual Halloween Candy Buy Back the next day on November 1st. According to their Facebook Event: “Join us on November 1st from 4:00pm to 5:30pm in our Queen Anne office for our Annual Candy Buy Back! Just bring us your Halloween candy and we will pay you $1.00 per pound! Keep those teeth cavity free!”
