Enjoy Seattle Restaurant Week at a Queen Anne Restaurant

When Seattle Restaurant Week comes around twice each year, the city’s dining scene gets a lot of action! The fall edition of Seattle Restaurant Week 2014 begins on Sunday, October 19th, and we suggest you visit a Queen Anne restaurant to enjoy it!

Restaurant Week runs from October 19th through 23rd, and again from the 26th through the 30th. Participating Queen Anne restaurant locations will offer three courses for dinner for $30 per person. Some locations will offer two lunch courses for $15, and additional wine pairings.

Ponti Seafood Grill

Seafood is a must at Ponti, where the appetizer options for Restaurant Week include Steamed Penn Cove Mussels or Clams, Alaska King Crab Rangoons, Grilled Marinated Monterey Calamari, Hawaiian Albacore Tartare, or Sriracha-Lime White Gulf Prawns. Choose your dinner entrée from Thai Curry Penne with Alaskan Scallops and Dungeness Crab, Grilled Wild Sockeye Salmon, Pan-Roasted Alaskan Cod, Lemongrass and Star Anise Braised Lamb Shank, or Wild Mushroom Risotto. Betty Restaurant & Bar

Gluten-free and vegetarian options can be found on Betty’s Restaurant Week menu. To start, choose from Mixed Greens, Tuscan Kale Salad, or Fried Cauliflower for your appetizer – all are both vegetarian and gluten-free. As an entrée, the selection includes Oven Roasted Chicken, Kassler Pork Chop, Slow-Braised Lamb Shank, or Saffron & Leek Risotto Cakes. Restaurant Week guests can choose from any one of Betty’s renowned house-made desserts from the daily menu.

 

Peso’s Kitchen & Lounge

Fans of Peso’s will love the fact that they can enjoy three lunch courses for $15 during restaurant week – click here to check out the full lunch and dinner menu options. For dinner, choose from Chiogga Beets/Asparagus/Arugula salad, Peso’s Chop Chop Salad, West Indies Prawn Bouillabaise, Portobello ‘Roias’ Chile Relleno, or Crispy Beef Picadillo Taquitos for your appetizer. Entrée choices include Peso’s Signature Carne Asada, Mexico City Rib Eye, Dungeness Crab and Rock Shrimp Enchilada, Double-Cut Pork Chop, or Fresh Pacific Rockfish with Prawns and Scallops. Enjoy either a Warm Brownie Sundae or Fried Banana-Chocolate Chimichangas.

 

Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge

Seattle Restaurant Week lunch can also be had at Toulouse Petit – two courses for $15. View both lunch and dinner menus here. The dinner options start with a selection of tasty appetizers: Beet Salad, Garlic Sausage, Duck-Pistachio Terrine, Onion Soup, or Grilled Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. For your dinner entrée choices, select from a vegetarian sage and pine nut Tagliatelle pasta, Mad Hatcher Farms Half Chicken, Oven Roasted Duck Confit, Bolognese, or Gulf Shrimp with Crawfish and Housemade Andouille over grits. Choose from Toulouse Petit’s famous beignets, chocolate torte, or white chocolate bread pudding for dessert.

 

 

Ten Mercer

Diners won’t be short on options for Ten Mercer’s Seattle Restaurant Week menu! Start with Stuffed Eggplant Rollotini, Ten Mercer’s House Salad, or a Wild Green Salad for your appetizer. Entrée selections include Roasted Stuffed Corvina, Pan Fried Rainbow Trout, Fresh Steelhead Trout, Grilled House-Smoked Pork Tenderloin, Seared Petite Tenderloin Medallions, Lamb Sugo, Four Cheese Ravioli, or Wild Mushroom Risotto. Choose from Vanilla Bean Custard, Profiteroles, or Chocolate Torten for dessert.

 

Melting Pot – Seattle

The Queen Anne location of The Melting Pot is participating in Seattle Restaurant Week in its own fondue fashion! Appetizer choices are Caesar Salad, the Melting Pot House Salad, or a California Salad. Enjoy dippable entrée selections: Triple Dip, Signature Selection, or Vegetarian fondue. Choose from one of The Melting Pot’s three chocolate fondues for dessert!

 

Crow Restaurant & Bar

New American meets Italian at Crow for their Restaurant Week menu. Choose from the soup of the day, Mixed Greens, Sauteed Prawns & Spinach Chorizo, or an Iceberg Wedge Salad for your appetizer. For the entrée, selections include a Pan-Roasted Chicken, Cured Pork Tenderloin, House Lasagna, or Brown Butter Gnocchi. The full daily dessert menu is available for your dessert choice!

Roaring Bowl Restaurant

This lower Queen Anne restaurant is participating in Restaurant Week for lunch and dinner, with menus that are much the same (smaller portion sizes for lunch). Appetizer choices are Bento Salad, Chicken Skewer, Pork Skewer, or Short Rib (no short rib on the lunch menu offering). For your entrée, choose from Chuck Shabu, Pork Shabu, or Vegetarian Shabu. Desserts to choose from include Mango Sago, Coconut Sago, or Ginger Lemongrass Crème Brulee.

 

Agave Cocina & Tequilas

Another Restaurant Week participant offering lunch, you can enjoy two courses for $15 at Agave. Click here to view the full lunch and dinner offerings for Restaurant Week. For dinner, choose from three tasty appetizers including Grilled Jalapenos, Traditional Pozole, or Wild Mushroom and Spinach Quesadilla – each is paired with Casamigos Blanco Tequila. Entrée selections are paired with Casamigos Reposado Tequila, and include Roasted Butternut Squash Enchiladas, Poblano & Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast, or Grilled Mango Habanero Salmon. For dessert, choose from Tres Leches Cake or Coconut Almond Fried Ice Cream, paired with Casamigos Anejo Tequila.

Queen Anne Events: 12 Things to Do in April

From Seattle Restaurant week to exciting cultural events and happenings at the Seattle Center, there are lots of Queen Anne events to fill your calendar with this month! Read on for information…

  1. Wednesdays in April – Wine Wednesday Tastings at Twirl Café: Enjoy three hand-selected wines from rotating regions! This weekly event at Twirl Café is from 5 – 8 p.m. and costs $5 per tasting. Half priced wines by the bottle (select variety) will be available for purchase as well.
  2. Fridays in April – Movie & Pizza Night at Twirl Café: Rotating pizzas and movie snacks will be available at Twirl’s weekly movie and pizza night. From 5 – 8 p.m. on Fridays, Twirl will serving pizza and dinner specials for a $7 rotating pizza selection, or $4 cheese pizza. They be playing a G-rated movie (movie starts at 6 p.m.) presented by Video Isle, and kids are encouraged to wear their PJs.
  3. April 4 – First Friday Jazz in April at the Swedish Club NW: The Swedish Club hosts a fun jazz night on the first Friday of each month, and it’s on April 4th this time around! Hear pianist Overton Berry and bassist Jeff Davies for the musical numbers, plus a brief speech from Author Kurt Armbruster. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.
  4. April 5 & 6 – World Rhythm Festival at the Seattle Center: Enjoy a world of musical performances and drum & dance workshops at the 21st Annual World Rhythm Festival. This event is free and open to the public on April 5th and 6th at the Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion.
  5. April 5 thru 20 – Seattle Center Whirligig: The Seattle Center’s Armory has been transformed into a colorful, kid-friendly hub that your family will not want to miss! Get your passes for balloon artists, face painters, caricaturists, super-sized inflatable rides and more. The rides and activities are open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. from April 4th through 20th. Prices range from $1.50 for a single ride ticket to $7.50 for an all-day main floor pass. There is also a Toddler Zone for the younger kiddos, for $4.50 for an all-day ticket. Click here for details.
  6. April 6 – April Swedish Pancakes at the Swedish Club NW: It’s a monthly event at the Swedish Club Northwest… the Sunday morning Swedish Pancake Breakfast! Authentic pancakes, plus all of the fixings, music, dancers and more. The cost is $9 for guests, $7 for club members, and $5 for kids ages 5 – 12. Doors open at 8 a.m. on April 6th for this monthly event.
  7. April 6-10 & 13-17 – Seattle Restaurant Week at Queen Anne Restaurants: Several Queen Anne restaurants are participating in the Spring Seattle Restaurant week from April 6th – 10th and 13th – 17th. The participating restaurants in our neighborhood include Ponti Seafood Grill, How to Cook a Wolf, LloydMartin, Betty Restaurant & Bar, Peso’s, Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge, Ten Mercer and The Melting Pot.   8. April 9 – April Queen Anne Book Co. Storytime at Twirl: On the second Wednesday of every month, Tegan from the Queen Anne Book Co. does a FREE storytime at Twirl Café! Come join us for this fun event for kids of all ages on April 9th from 10 – 10:30 a.m.
  9. April 12 – Hat Luncheon at the Swedish Club Northwest: Spring fashion and Sweden’s youngest princesses (Estelle and Leonore) will be celebrated at this Swedish Club NW event. Enjoy salmon pasta salad, hats from Hatterdashery and Millinery, raffle prizes, and more. RSVP in advance necessary – click here. Lunch is $21 per person (vegetarian options available).
  10. April 12 – Rhythm & Booze at Toulouse Petit: An evening of mouth-watering BBQ, bourbon and music awaits at Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge on April 12th at 9 p.m. The restaurant is featuring the new Barrel Rider Bourbon from Batch 206, plus music from The True Romans.   11. April 17 – Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce April Awards Luncheon: The Greater Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce meets on the third Thursday of every month. Join the chamber for their 8th annual Chamber Awards Luncheon on April 17th to recognize influential people and businesses in the Queen Anne community over the last year. The luncheon will take place at the Space Needle in the Skyline Level deck from 11:15 to 1:00 p.m. RSVP required, to contact@qachamber.org.
  12. April 26 – April Mimosa Brunch at Twirl Café: On the last Saturday of each month, Twirl Café is holding a fun Mimosa Brunch with a food special! Lox and Bagels is the food special for the April 26th event, with a mimosa on the side (alcoholic or non). Regular play admission is free when you spend $20+ on food and beverages.

Queen Anne Events: 7 Things to Do in April

We’re starting a new monthly tradition on the Queen Anne, Seattle blog! Near the end of each month, we’ll publish a list of events and activities to do in the following month. So, with no further ado, the following are the Queen Anne events taking place in April:

  1. April 7-11 & April 14-18 – Seattle Restaurant Week in Queen Anne: Restaurants all over Queen Anne are participating in this bi-annual event! Eat a three-course prix-fixe meal for $28 at several neighborhood restaurants including Betty Restaurant & Bar, Boat Street Café, Collections Café, How to Cook a Wolf, Peso’s Kitchen & Lounge, Ponti Seafood Grill, Portage, Ten Mercer, The Melting Pot Seattle, and Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge.
  2. April 9 – Interbay P-Patch Food Bank Gardening Kickoff Party: It’s the 25th season of Food Bank Gardening at the Interbay P-Patch! Come celebrate the beginning of the season with a kickoff gardening event on April 9th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Interbay P-Patch (2451 15th Ave. W.). Come armed with your garden tools, seeds, and plantings! The volunteer gardeners grow food to donate to local food banks during the year, and meet every Tuesday through the end of October from 5:30 p.m. to dusk. Learn more on the P-Patch website.
  3. April 9 – Volunteer to Assess the Queen Anne Staircases: Sustainable Queen Anne is helping with the Queen Anne Greenway project by holding an evening assessment of the various Queen Anne staircases. This volunteer opportunity will take place on April 9th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the latest, and will be auditing the different Queen Anne stairs to check for adequate lighting and conditions of disrepair or overgrowth.   4. April 14 – Eat. Run. Hope. (Presented by Ethan Stowell Restaurants): Support Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine on April 14th. Begin the day with a 5K run/walk at Seward Park, followed by a Chef’s Tent tasting, filled with samplings of food from Seattle’s best chefs (including How to Cook a Wolf’s Ethan Stowell).   5. GQACC LogoApril 18 – Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce April Luncheon: The QA Chamber holds their monthly luncheon this April 18th from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month, they’re holding a special “buy one, get one free” promotion: chamber members who bring a colleague or guest may enjoy the lunch at two for the price of one costs ($25 for two)! RSVP to contact@qachamber.org, or on their event listing. Lunch for non-members attending alone is $35.
  6. April 21 – Earth Day Tree Walk at the Seattle Center: Learn about Seattle’s urban forest by touring trees around the Space Needle. The event takes place on April 21st from 1-3 p.m., and attendees should meet outside the Fisher Pavilion. Visit seattle.gov/trees for more information.
  7. April 25 – Dining Out for Life in Queen Anne: Several Queen Anne restaurants will be participating in Dining Out for Life. It’s an annual event, where restaurants donate a portion of their proceeds (the following Queen Anne restaurants will be donating 30-50%) towards AIDS service organizations. On April 25th, Dine out for life at Lloyd Martin, McMenamins Queen Anne, or Ponti Seafood Grill.
